**The 1997 model year vehicles VIN 177189 through 179549 were assembled with an axle lubricant that contains a friction additive formulation which does not fully take into account the unique operating characteristics of Torsen differentials. This situation can also occur after a differential oil change on all years. Some of the involved vehicles may exhibit a “shudder” or mild vibration when turning or accelerating during a turn that is unrelated to normal vibration sources (tires, prop shafts, halfshafts,exhaust or engine). There are no safety nor durability issues that will arise with continued use of this lubricant. However, if the customer complains of a vibration, an enhanced friction modifier PN 05744910 (provides enough for one vehicle-two 4-ounce bottles) should be added to the axle lubricant before performing vibration diagnostics.
